Artisan Hardware was engaged to create a custom package for a series of 10-foot doors, seamlessly integrating advanced security and automation systems while preserving the timeless elegance expected of a Four Seasons Penthouse residence.

The result was a refined hardware solution that balanced luxury aesthetics, technical performance, and modern functionality throughout the home.

01 Challenge

The client required an elegant, traditional hardware design to complement a series of custom 10-foot doors while meeting strict luxury hospitality standards, fire code requirements, and advanced security integration needs.

02 Solution

Working closely with our Italian partners at Salice Paolo, Artisan Hardware developed a fully custom hardware package featuring bespoke lever and escutcheon designs, silver-plated finishes, and integrated door electrification.

To ensure complete compatibility between European hardware components and North American locking systems, lock bodies were shipped overseas for precise coordination and fabrication.

Despite the complexity of the project, the final solution was completed in just 10 weeks, significantly ahead of the original 18-week projected timeline.

04 Process

Artisan Hardware collaborated closely with the contractor and door manufacturer through multiple site visits and planning meetings.

Because each custom door featured unique dimensions and slight variations, special attention was required to maintain visual consistency throughout the residence.

Our team coordinated directly with suppliers, machinists, and finishing specialists to ensure all fabrication requirements, technical specifications, and finishing standards were met. A custom silver-plated finish was developed specifically for this project to achieve the owner’s desired aesthetic while maintaining long-term durability and performance.
